Eco-Flex is a black, water based, cold applied liquid rubber waterproofing that remains highly flexible when cured. Developed for both residential and commercial construction, Eco-Flex can be used on standard concrete or block foundations and also insulated concrete forms (ICF), wood, metal, polystyrene, etc. It comes ready to use with no need for priming or heating, and can easily be applied with a brush, roller or airless sprayer the average size foundation can be waterproofed in 2-3 hours. There is no need to wait for concrete to cure, waterproofing can commence once the forms are off and then back-filling can be completed within 24 hours. Although designed for below-grade exterior waterproofing, Eco-Flex can also be used above grade as a vapor barrier under exterior siding. On the interior of a building, Eco-Flex can be installed under the concrete floor slab in the basement as a water and vapor barrier, or under tiled areas in bathrooms and showers. With no solvents or strong odor, Eco-Flex is safe for the applicator and the environment. SURFACE PREPARATION Coverage area should be clean, sound and dry, and free of any loose material or debris. Eco-Flex has superior adhesion and bonds firmly to the ICF or substrate, even when applied onto green concrete. However, Eco-Flex should not be applied if rain is forecast over a 24 period after application. COVERAGE Approximate application rate is 200-250sf per 5 gallon pail, which will yield a dry film thickness of 40mil. APPLICATION Eco-Flex is best applied by with an airless sprayer. The product can also be applied by brush or roller. CURING & DRYING Ideal drying temperature is +35F. Under standard conditions Eco-Flex will be tack free within 1-2 hours, fully dry within 12 hours, and backfilling can then take place. It is recommended that protection boards be used in areas with poor draining soil, possible flooding or seismic activity, or where local building codes require it. LIMITATIONS Eco-Flex is not designed to perform as an exposed wearing course membrane. Do not apply when temperatures are expected to drop below freezing during the first 24 hours after application, unless using a heated sprayer, when Eco-Flex will cure within 30 minutes. Newly applied Eco-Flex should be protected against rain and freezing during the first 12 hours. STORAGE & HANDLING Keep containers tightly sealed and stored in temperatures between 35F to 90F. If kept as stated, the shelf life of Eco-Flex is 36+ months. Stir well prior to use. DO NOT LET PRODUCT FREEZE. CAUTION Eco-Flex is nontoxic, but it is recommended that the applicator wear protective work clothing and eye wear. Avoid prolonged contact with exposed skin and keep away from mouth and eyes. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting and seek medical help immediately. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN CLEAN UP Uncured material can be cleaned off using soap and water. Once cured use mineral spirits. WARRANTY It is the responsibility of the customer to determine the suitability of the product for the intended purpose. Factors such as weather surface preparation and applicator’s skill are beyond the control of the company. Therefore, the manufacturer’s liability is limited to the replacement of the defective material only.
